Who can make a referral?
Anyone can! Referrals can be submitted by clients, family members, case managers, social workers, or healthcare providers.
Do I need Medicaid to qualify?
Yes. Golden Roots Meals partners with Medicaid and approved health plans to provide covered meal services. If you’re not sure, submit the form and we’ll verify your eligibility.
What if I already have another meal provider?
No problem. Choose “Transfer Meal Providers” and fill out the form. Our team will contact your Medicaid plan and handle the transfer, so you don’t have a gap in service.
How long does it take to start meal service?
Most clients are approved and scheduled within 5–7 business days after eligibility is verified with Medicaid/insurance. Transfers may take a little longer depending on your plan.
What kinds of meals do you provide?
We prepare fresh, prepackaged, microwavable meals that are healthy, balanced, and flavorful. Options include low sodium, diabetic-friendly, soft foods, vegetarian, and allergy-sensitive meals.
Do I have to pay anything?
If you are covered through Medicaid or an approved health plan, your meals are typically 100% covered. We’ll confirm your coverage during the verification process.
How are meals delivered?
Meals are delivered weekly to your home or facility. Delivery is contactless if requested, and we’ll work with you to schedule the best time.
